Breaking down the latest changes for crypto holders
Enhanced Asset Management & Expanded Token Support

Last week, I installed the latest Ledger Live update and was immediately struck by how many new assets have been added—something that’s a huge win for users who hold niche crypto tokens. Previously, if you had a small-cap token from a less mainstream blockchain like Near Protocol’s new DeFi project or Cosmos ecosystem’s recent launch, you might have struggled to find it in the asset list. Now, the update adds over 20 new verified tokens, including popular ones like Solana’s Jito and Polygon’s Aave v3 auxiliary tokens, plus a handful of under-the-radar ones that many holders have been asking for. For example, my friend who holds the Celestia (TIA) testnet airdrop tokens finally can track their full balance in Ledger Live without switching to a separate wallet app. The asset search function is also smarter: typing the first three letters of a token pulls up relevant results even if it’s not the top searched, which cuts down on frustration when you’re trying to check a specific holding. I also noticed that all new tokens are verified, so you don’t have to worry about fake assets being listed—Ledger’s team checks each one before adding it, a big relief for users avoiding token impersonation scams.
Streamlined Staking & Yield Tools for Passive Income
One of the most requested features over the past year was easier staking across multiple networks, and this update delivers exactly that. Before, staking ETH or SOL required a few extra clicks to connect your Ledger device and confirm the transaction, but now there’s a dedicated “Stake Now” button right on the asset page for each supported token. I tested this with my own SOL holdings: in the old version, I had to open the staking tab, select my Ledger Nano S Plus, and go through three confirmation steps. Now, tapping “Stake Now” brought up a modal that let me choose my staking provider (like Lido or Marinade) and set the amount—all with just two Ledger confirmations, saving at least a minute of waiting. Even better, the staking dashboard shows real-time rewards and upcoming unlock dates, so you don’t have to guess when your funds will be available again. For users who dabble in yield farming, the update adds integration with trusted smaller protocols like Osmosis on Cosmos, letting you earn extra rewards without leaving Ledger Live.
New Security Upgrades to Block Phishing & Unauthorized Access
Security is Ledger’s top priority, and the latest update brings two key tweaks that address common user pain points. First, there’s an enhanced transaction warning system: when interacting with a decentralized app (DApp) not on Ledger’s approved list, the app shows a bright red banner on both your Ledger device and desktop, with details on why the DApp might be risky. A colleague of mine almost connected to a fake NFT marketplace last month, but in the updated version, the red warning popped up immediately, and the Ledger device asked for an extra confirmation before allowing the connection—something that would have prevented a potential scam. Second, the update adds optional biometric authentication for mobile users (iOS and Android), so you don’t have to type your PIN every time you open Ledger Live. This is especially useful when on the go, checking your balance quickly without fumbling for your Ledger device or typing a long PIN.
UX Tweaks That Make Daily Use Feel Smoother
Small UX changes might seem trivial, but they add up to a much better experience. The latest update lets you customize your home screen, so you can pin your most-used assets, staking dashboard, or NFT gallery right at the top. As someone who tracks a mix of Bitcoin, ETH, and my NFT collection, I set up my home screen to show my NFTs first, saving me from scrolling through the full list every time. The desktop app also has a new dark mode toggle that’s more consistent with the rest of the app, and the font size is adjustable—great for users who struggle with small text on large monitors. Another nice touch is the transaction history filter: you can now filter by date, asset, or transaction type (send, receive, stake) to find specific entries quickly. When I needed to check when I sent a batch of TIA tokens last month, I filtered the history by “send” and the TIA token, and found the transaction in two seconds instead of scrolling through 50+ entries. These small adjustments make the app feel tailored to how you use it daily.
